Work Parties

Estate maintenance plays an essential part in ensuring the clubs waters are kept to a very high standard. The Estates Team carry out a planned programme of work on a daily basis and are all volunteers. The Estates Maintenance fee of £90.00, referred to as an Overstamp payment, entitles the member to fish designated, premier club waters between 15th March to 15th June inclusive. This can be purchased separately or with the RESTRICTED - Intermediate Including Overstamp, BAND E - Senior Including Overstamp or BAND C - Pensioner Including Overstamp, only pensioners aged over 70 will receive a free Overstamp, this applies to both existing pensioners and future qualifiers.

Tabley Mere closed 15th March – 31st May inclusive. Strictly no fishing or access to the estate during this period. Open to ALL MEMBERS thereafter.

Those choosing not to pay the overstamp fee may still earn an overstamp by completing two, six hour work parties, this then allows the member to fish the premier club waters between 15th March to 15th June inclusive. Members who do not pay for an overstamp or do not complete the two, six hour work parties may not fish the premier club waters during this period but can still fish all other club waters designated as non-overstamp, a full list of all waters can be found here.

Work Party Dates 2024

In 2024, we will limit the number of volunteering members for each work party to 12 members. This will spread the numbers evenly across all venues requiring work. If there is a large uptake for work parties then we will review the upper limit to ensure all the volunteers will have the opportunity to attend and earn their overstamp.

The dates are fixed although the venues may change due to weather or a last minute change in circumstances.

Attending a Work Party

You need to attend 2 work parties to earn a full overstamp  or 1 work party to earn a half overstamp (valid from 1st May to 15th June) , to book onto a work party email our Head of Estates, estates@lymmanglersclub and nominate 4 dates that you would prefer to attend, we will do our utmost to accommodate your preferences.

 

Please ensure that you turn up on time. Please ensure that you bring your own protective equipment (PPE) with you, e.g. sturdy pair of boots, warm clothing (including waterproofs) and industrial/gardening gloves. You will also require a packed lunch. There will be some additional work parties that take place throughout the year, details will be posted on the members forum and Blog in advance of them taking place.

 

** Please note an overstamp is only required for a Senior, Pensioner and Intermediate membership class who wishes to fish the waters requiring an overstamp, it is NOT required after June 15th **
